W 10: Achieving your dreams

It has become almost cliche, that is, the saying "follow your dreams", or, "dream big". It has gotten so cliche that it sort of goes in one ear and out the other when it is said these days. But let's dive a little deeper into it. What does it really mean? What does it really look like?

In my class, we had some really good readings and videos that we were supposed to internalize. Many of them talked about seeing it in your mind first, and allowing it to take root deep within. We talked about not taking no for an answer, and being persistent, as well as resilient. These are all aspects about following your dreams. Out of all the things we learned about this week, I think the aspect of resilience is what stood out to me the most. You will have a lot of nay sayers on your journey. And it is important to be dead set on your own journey.

One of my favorite books of all time is called the 10X rule, by Grant Cardone. The reason I love this book so much is because he talks about whatever we have to do, multiply our efforts, thoughts, and all energy to that thing, ESPECIALLY our dreams. When we multiply all of our efforts, and outside efforts, we are far more likely to reach our dream. For example, if we are doing summer sales for pest control, and we have a goal of selling 200 accounts, we must act as if it is our goal to sell 2,000 accounts. We have to work that hard, and often times we will reach our goal far earlier than we expected.

And that goes with our dreams. This rule tells us that we need to think of our dreams 10 times more than we already are if we want to achieve it.
