Improvement

We aare not on this world to be perfect. All that the Lord asks of us is that we improve each and every day. If you think that you do not have any improving to do, you will be brought to the painful depths of humility sooner than you realize, and realize that we all have things we need to work on.  I have learned that much of what we learn in business and in different business settings apply to life, or vice versa. This week, we learned about SEO, and were also tasked with switching things around on our ad campaign. As we were able to see our progress so far, we were also able to switch some of the selected keywords around, and that way we have more luck in possibly getting more clicks.  It is all about reevaluating, finding out what makes the most sense, doing research, and then deciding the best course of action from there. These are the ways that we are able to improve.

ROI

ROI means a return on the work you have been putting in. It is why businesses do what they do. A lot of times, the beginning stages of any business, or anything resembling a business are difficult and uncomfortable. The main idea is that at some point there will be a return or a multiplication of value at some point.  I used to think of this in terms of monetary value, but it got me thinking about what this has to do with things that do not have to do with this kind of thing, and what I mean by that is direct money. If you take things like tuition, church callings, and other volunteer things.  I think that each of these things require an element of sacrifice. These sacrifices eventually lead to something great, and we can eventually reap a great reward. This is a reward that can not be bought, and is much more precious than money. It is a spiritual blessing that helps us grow.  All things in business help me see the gospel more clearly.

Hardships

This week, we learned more about Google Analytics. It was awesome to learn more about it, and step out of my comfort zone once again. This week has been extraordinarily busy with IBC and work, that by the time I got around to it, it was honestly the last thing I wanted to do. I thought it sounded like something abstract that has a steep learning curve, and that it was something that only a certain kind of person could achieve, and I could only maybe achieve it if I took a lot of Adderall.  It turned out to be really simple thought, and with the help of this class, I was able to plug it into google ads and my website really easily.  It is awesome what the Lord does to assist us as we put our best foot forward. The Lord truly cares about our effort, and will bless us as we do our best.  May this next week also be a good one!

Progress

When coming up with different ideas for your ad campaign, it is a great idea to keep on researching new ways for different words and ideas, so that way new ones can jump out at you, and you can reach a broader range of people.  I liked the exercise we did in my class this week because it really helped me realize what makes an effective ad campaign and what does not. I talk about this every week, it feels like, but it is just so cool how doing this is getting easier and easier. It all seemed so complicated before I started the class, but it is all coming together now.  I am so grateful for what I have been learning in the class, and hope to learn more as I go.

Google Ads

I did another thing this week that was out of my comfort zone: Ran a google Ads campaign. Google ads are interesting, because there is a lot to it. It was interesting putting into practice what we have been learning all semester long so far.  Something interesting about google ads, is that while there are certain types of searches you want to avoid (such as broad, overly specific options), at the end of the day, there is only one way to know or not if those search words are ones that would actually work in a real campaign, by actualy using them in a real campaign.  Another stand out is that we can alternate and improve on our campaign as we go. We can always recalibrate, and realign what we do with our efforts.  A lot of this can be applied to stuff we do in our every day lives, yet another reminder that business principles are often universal.
