W11: Attitude on Money
Did you know that our attitude on money will greatly determine our wealth? Sounds made up right? Read that again. Our attitude on money. What is our idea of wealth? is it actual money, possession, and things? Or is it time spent with people we love?
Greed is one of the most deadly sins for a reason. If our attitude is solely focused on gaining more money, that is where we will spend our time. If our core values are family, learning, and adventure, that is where we will spend out time. Notice the key word there: time. They say time is money. Time really is one of the most valuable currency's there is.
Here is the thing about time: We are all given time as a currency, and we all spend it in different ways. There are many metaphors you can make with this analogy. You can say that by what we are all "investing" in some way or another. You can also say that we all get a certain amount of time, but I like this view, because time is limited. We are only on this earth for a limited amount of time.
I like the law of the harvest. We learn that whatever we reap is what we sow. This applies with how we spend our time and how we spend our thoughts, talents, and energy. If we have this view on life, and we spend our time in the right kinds of places, we will always have what we need. We should not worry about things about tomorrow, and the next day.
The wealthiest people are those who spend time with those that matter most to them. The wealthiest people are the ones that take time to go to the temple. The wealthiest ones don't worry about actual money. I have learned that wealth is purely a state of mind.
